who's the new president...

SiReNiTa - 7-5-2006 at 05:07 PM

hey...i was wondering if you could tell me who is the new president...since we are in canada we do not get that kind of news...all i know is that they had left it until today to decide and i was wondering if any of you know who it is...thanks a bunch!

Bruce R Leech - 7-5-2006 at 05:12 PM

they are saying now that they might know Saturday. if not then they say it will be in September.

Dave - 7-5-2006 at 05:17 PM

Obrador is currently 2 points ahead after the I.F.E thought better and included votes it had earlier disqualified. I expect that when all the votes are counted Obrador will win, maybe late Thursday or Friday. Calderon will probably contest so we might not have a winner until September.

Today, Mexican markets down 3% and the Peso fell 1% against the dollar.

Dave - 7-5-2006 at 05:29 PM

Serinita, I believe the presidency changes hands in September anyways. Independence day?

Bruce R Leech - 7-5-2006 at 05:32 PM

SiReNiTa - 7-5-2006 at 05:45 PM

Why would you expect that? So markets and the entire country falls?

They showed Calderon on TV last night and he said, in perfect English "I won it" He will most likely contest it if the outcome is different.

Bruce R Leech - 7-6-2006 at 06:27 PM

PAN will have road blocks on even numbered KM markers and PRD will take the odd ones:lol:

bajalou - 7-6-2006 at 06:37 PM

Bruce - where will PRI be - they don't want to be left out

I don't think the soldiers will be back at the check points. They wil be where authorities expect demonstrations etc.
