Arkansas Travler

Skeet/Loreto - 7-8-2006 at 07:35 PM

Yes this is the Original, built in 1989-19ft Length with an 8 foot Beam. It is somewhat like the old Glaspar-It is very well kept. It is a perfect boat fo someone who likes to Fish/Cruise to the out of the way places. A very good Heavy water Boat.
Sets on a Heavy duty Trailer and was used several years ago out of Kino Bay.
I had 3 boats during my 35 years on the Sea Of Cortez-A 22 Ft. Panga for 27 years, a Pompano 21 Lobster boat with a diesel, a 22 Ft 217 Fish by Wellcraft with a 230 Yannmar.
This is a Heavy Hull with Wide Beam.

I will sell the Boat /Trailor for $6,000 and the Truck for $11,000 or together for $16,000.

With a Front Hitch on the Truck you could Launch off the Beach in many Locations.

Forgot to Add:
This is a "Fishermans boat", not a "Looke Loo" Loaded with a bunch of useless Equiptment to impress People.
It fishes 4 People easy and is excellent for Crusing 2 people as the Seats fold down for sleeping.
It is for the Serious Fisheman who takes the time to "Learn the Water" of the Sea Of Cotez without depending on Fancy Equiptment. . If the buyer does not like the 175 OMC Ford it could be easily converted to a small Diesel as I did to my last boat the Wellcraft 217 Fish which I sold to DAN White of the East Cape.
Ideal for running out of Loreto or Mulege North or South.

Capt. George

heading west the end of this month

capt. mike - 7-9-2006 at 06:08 AM

Skeet, sounds ok but i can't use an IO motor drive set up in a place like Mulege that has no maintenance facility.
too bad tho - price is right.

backninedan - 7-9-2006 at 07:42 AM

The truck sounds good, but it cant be imported....

Skeet/Loreto - 7-9-2006 at 06:30 PM

Dan: Why no import on Truck?

Thsi Boat and Truck could be used by the serious fisherman who lives in Baja most of the time , it is not for a Fast 2 Week Trip every 6 months or So.

You can't import diesel vehicles into Mexico.

backninedan - 7-9-2006 at 07:05 PM

Lou is correct, I have one and have checked with the agent at the Loreto airport. The agents name is Rafael and is a great guy, he just handled the importation of my boat with a minumum of paper work and hassle.

jerry - 7-9-2006 at 09:25 PM

hea dan when did you do the importation on your boat?? i was there in jan and was told to do to port captian
captain said the law changed and said i had to go to santa rosaliea i didnt get it done i hope by the time im down next year it will be back at the airport?? just an inflatable what a hassell have a good one jerry

backninedan - 7-10-2006 at 07:28 AM

I did it last week Jerry. I was sent there by the port captain. Rafael comes to your house, inspects the boat and when he has five boats or more, he makes a run to Santa Rosalia. Cost was $100 or that equivalant in pesos. I had to return to the airport to sign the papers and Rafael then made another trip to Santa Rosalia with the signed papers. He delivered the finished papers to each boat owner the next day. Well worth the money.

Bruce R Leech - 7-10-2006 at 07:44 AM

the best way for you to do it would be to stop in Santa Rosalia on your way though and do it. It only costs 50 US for 10 years. and they do it really fast.

Skeet/Loreto - 7-10-2006 at 03:43 PM

Bruce: Just think, Rafael is $50 Richer, does a good job, and in the future will take care of you on other Matters.
I have found that many times it is best to spend a little extra money where you live then all the Mexicanos do not refer you as being"Muy Coda".
Maybe that is why the Major in Loreto came from the Airport in Loreto?

Anyhow, someone living in Loreto, coming back to the States several times or at least once a year would not have to Import a Diesel.

This 97 Ford 250 would still be a good Truck for the serious fisherman, all it needs is a fron Hitch and you could push in and retrieve it at many places on the Beach.
