When in Los Barriles I recommend visiting the Galeria Los Angeles. Everywhere you look you?ll see objects of delight, wonderful pieces of folk art
from throughout Mexico. Each piece is hand selected by my sweet friend Sara (Nomad?s own Eli), and boy does she have good taste! There are also
several wonderful pieces by Sara herself.
Some pieces are for gallery display only, some are available for surprisingly reasonable prices. Sara helps to support any number of artisans by
purchasing their work and returning some of the profit to them.
It?s located a short walk up the hill from the main drag; turn right at the little restaurant where they sell the wonderful baked potatoes (Papas?)
and look for this sign:

Thanks Nena
For reminding me that I have to get myself into the gallery to check it out.
See you soon, Eli

Thanks Nena, that was very thoughtful of you.
Judy, better hurry if you want to see me this summer, one more week and I am almost gone South until Nov. Although, Dona Katrina is there to greet
folks in my place.

And you could say hi to Dylan and Paloma--they are just the center of Sara's universe lately. Ask Sara who was scratching Dylans back a while back.
Really cute story.

Natalie Ann,
Thank you for letting us all know about Sara's gallery.
Sara,
It looks wonderful, and I'm hoping we can make a trip down there in the fall to shop.
It was nice to meet you in La Paz.

Paula it was real nice to meet you too. I hope to see you again, and I would love to give you a little tour of the gallery. It has been my passion to
collect art for a few years now, I love sharing it with everyone.
Oh and........Just in case any of Ya?ll comes up; Thought I best warn ya to watch your step around the outside of the VOS building where Galeria Los
Angeles is located, and if your wondering what the furious flurry mess of rebuilding is all about; well, we are in the middle of a fairly large impact
remodel in order to accommodate Caleb?s Caf? which is moving from the Gringo Plaza and relocating at in the front section of our building around mid
October.
As the Owners of Caleb?s is leasing the space for a few years, we are doing a lot of work on our inner structure to accommodate the first rate caf?
that all of us in Los Barriles already know they are. This is including building a new kitchen so my daughter, (she? just so smart), decided that
besides the returants owner to bring the restaurant?s workers (cooks, baker, waitresses, etc.) over to give their input into how the kitchen be best
be laid out for their efficiency of movement.
Even though I am just watching the show, (I?m retired now ya know), I guess I am just so proud to see my daughter be so wise in working WITH everyone
from masons, engineers to the people who will actually occupy the space in order to create a functioning dream come true. That was what VOS was always
about ya know: Vos Otros = All of Us. The tradition carries on.
The VOS Building in 05 before remoldel:
