My wife and I have spent time in La Paz in the past, but this will be our first camping trip. We are leaving on Jan2/03 for three months. Mama has
been collecting gently used kids clothing from family and friends for the last several months with a view to giving it away when we get there. I am
not sure that charity is always appreciated. I know when I was a poor kid in Ireland I hated to wear other peoples hand-me-downs. Do we risk offending
people with this idea? We would sooner pass it along to an agency that knows where it might be best put to use--any ideas who we could contact?
I also have some concerns about taking it through customs--might that be a problem also.
Cheers,
Al.

Yes you will need to be careful about taking to many clothes through the Border unless you can pack them in old suitcases.
I have been giving Jackets to the General Hospital in Cuidad Constitution for several years. It is easy to take about 20 Jackets in a couple of old
Siutcase swith out problems.
In the past 6 months I have sent several loads down with members of the Amigos Board.,Sometimes if you do not know the people you are dealing with
they will sell the Clothes.
If you decide to take Jackets Let me Know .Skeet/Loreto

I find this post so refreshing----after reading the 1400+post behind "What the ***are they doing.
Let's not forget that Baja, the place we all love, is still filled with people who have all kinds of hangups and problems--including a few posters.
Viva la Ninos!

I have been taking clothing to Baja for many years. The method I use so as not to offend is to give them to the adults and advise them, "es por su
ninos" I think I said that right. Corky
