There's a bird watching area on a good road going out of Guerro Negro.

There is a lighthouse and ruins at the end of the road...

It's a spooky place; here's one of the ugliest shrines I've seen:

Did I say spooky?

Did you know it is a fantastic place to see night herons in abundance? The ruins at the lighthouse are from the salt works original docking facility for the barges to load and transport salt to Cedros Island... which they moved to a better location as the entrance to the lagoon would fill in qickly after it was dredged. Somebody made a big boo boo building it there. Another interesting thing about this area is that when they started dredging the entrance, gray whales would come in and delight the people on the pier and word spread that you could see whales from there...but it is troublesome as the entrance is very shallow and they can get caught in there...so now they don't come in anymore, but lots of people go there thinking they're gonna see a whale. It's also a big party place for Guerrero Negro residents and a favorite fishing spot too. It happens to be in baja norte too! It is definately one of the best birdwatching areas around here as well as the lagoon and worth the drive out.
