Took some fun photos there in the mid 80's.
Great shot! thx.

----the apartment where we stayed in Rome last summer-----I mean EXACTLY. Spooky place, until you got to the actual apartment, and then it was great
and modern. More fun!!!!
Beautiful pic.

What a lot of work, too
why counterclockwise?
pacificobob - 7-19-2006 at 11:08 AM
im sure this is known by many, but i find it interesting as to why stairs almost always decend counterclockwise....so that the people defending thier
building can use a sword right handed on the way down...while the invaders are at a disadvantage on the way up.
THANKS

thanks for clearing that up, pacificobob.... Good to know! (and I didn't know...)
I thought it was related to why water swirls down the drain (or toilet) one way in the northern hemisphere and the other way in the southern
hemorroidalsphere....
Did I say that??Bob H - 7-19-2006 at 05:46 PM

I always wondered which direction the water would swirl on the equator!! Does it just go "blup, blup, blup" down the middle?

On the equator...

...it doesn't 'swirl' either way - it just backs-up!capt. mike - 7-20-2006 at 04:44 AM
