GPS of Baja

Unimogger - 11-30-2003 at 08:13 PM

Hello List,
New to the list and will be doing my first trip to Baja in January. Was wondering if anybody is useing a Garmin V and had map info for Baja? I have the basic map disc that came with the unit but it does not detail Baja.
Thanks,
Blair

Hello Unimogger,

I have not heard of any detailed map software for Baja. The best is to use Ozi Explorer/Fujiwara* and scan the Baja Almanac topo maps, load them into a lap top and use the GPS to plot your track on the detailed maps. * Ask Neal Johns to explainn this...

Welcome to the Baja Nomad Forums... aka 'The Baja Board'.

Sorry Ski, I'm a loner, I can't stand listening to others political opinions:moon:

I understand

but, if you think anything political or religious goes on around my campfires, it would either be in Spanish about Mexico or not at all.
I don't go where the gringos roam. :light:

the leftist political hacks that seem to make up the persona of most of the actives here. Basically felt little in common with them.....in spite of that "baja feeling"....but i admit to an occaisional lurkage - is that a word!!?? - I also disdain the anti American sentiment (including yours!) and assorted hypocracy espewed variously on these pages. That having been said.....
Wish you could have gone along on the baja 1000 aerial adventure, the opportunity for epic photos was memorial, especially night action of monster trophy's going over a hundred MPH down the straights in front of Rancho Grande! un fricking real....part 3 of this report is in the offing, look for it at my otherwise regular baja fun cyborspot, www.baja.net

Like Pablo S., the political stuff leaves me cold, I don't have time to debate frivolvity with the various extremist nutz here. Those who try in my plane are invited to step out.....AT 10,000 ft.!! Liberal ideology has demonstrated itself as an ever increasing failure for decades, why do I need to defend the obvious successes of conservatism and the free market/ less gov't intrusion?

If you want a CD-Rom with the only TOPO coverage available of its kind, e me. They're not cheap, so if bucks are an issue don't waste your time nor, especially mine. Have a merry Christmas, your altruistic work on behalf of the poor is to be admired.
