We were in the LACetto tasting room and noted a posting which said the limit per person is one liter, for crossing into the US. That was in synch
with what I have always believed.
Next paragraph..... If you are entering the US on a common carrier you can bring up to 60 liters!
Is that true, or did we misinterpret that line?
Seems like a major loophole if true,
Also, would there be any taxes imposed, California or Federal?
Remember in the old days when you crossed over into El Paso from Juarez, you put your bottle on the counter and paid the State of Texas 50cents tax on
your 'free' liter from Mexico.

I've researched this pretty thouroughly on the net and limit imposed is the one liter per person no matter how you are traveling, taxes or not when
entering California. Even if you wanted to declare it and pay the duty you can't do it. You have to have an import license to bring in any amount
over the one liter. I started this research because a friend of ours told us that a Customs Agent told him that twice a year, providing you lived in
a NON BORDER state (a state not bordering a foreign land) he could bring in up to 60 liters IF HE DROVE (and only if he drove). He did it many times
as an Oregon resident, but this was some time ago. What I don't remember is where he was crossing...any way, I could find NOTHING about this little
loop hole! The rule could have changed since then...

the guy at the tecate us customs told me a couple of years ago about the common carrier rule but said i couldn't do it there , tecate, because they
didn't have any common carriers going thru that check point. and also that they didn't have the processing stuff there to handle the import. he said
go to MMES buy a load via Guad and then take a bus to TJ? But what USA bus company goes from baja INTO the us?
what about an uncommon carrier?
