Nothing for nothing but last week I renewed my FM-3 for the umpteenth time but this was the first time I did it myself. The bottom line: 4 days, $1036
pesos, no hassels, no teeth nashing, wonderful experience. They even provided a written checklist of what documents and how many copies were
necessary.

And 6 months later, I am still waiting for my FM3 from the very same office...go figure!

fm3, he got list or requirements that included: "two originals and one copy of the SAT 5. when we went to obtain those, the lady at the stationer's
where you purchase SAT5 forms and get them typed (with carbon paper copies
) insisted we needed one original and two copies. altho that made more sense, i felt insecure. "after all, here it is in writing," i said to her.
so she gave us 2 originals and 2 copies (bless her heart:saint

And always remember, the officials in the office that you go to have done the interpretation of the laws/rules - and apply them as they think
correct.

Must one go to a stationery store for the SAT 5? Does anyone have a blank they can scan and post? or will Bancomer have a SAT 5 upon request.
More important, what exactly is the SAT 5

Only stationery stores I think - It's sometimes called "Receipt #5" It's a receipt form that the bank stamps when you pay. It's filled out by the
immigration officer as to the amount etc. Pay, then take the stamped copies back to immigration for further processing.

After having had a FM-3 for many years, I am thinking of avoiding the bother and just go with a FMT from now on. There is really not much reason to
have an FM-3 unless you are staying in Baja longer than 180 days at a time.

Except you can't legally leave stuff in Baja with a FMT
