Going to Abreojos for a week-10 days What is the weather like in late Oct. I know its windy there all the time but is the serf bigger this time of
year because of storms. I plan on bringing kayaks to fish from.

Abreojos picks up a south/southwest swell so if we have any sort of late season southern hemisphere storm action you might see some sizable waves
there. It is not uncommon to have a solid south swell at that time of year. You should bring some surfboards along too! I have never had a chance to
surf there but I know it is a great wave.Bob H - 8-8-2006 at 01:06 PM

Make sure you purchase a fishing license....rts551 - 8-8-2006 at 01:20 PM
It all depends on the weather. The surf starts to calm down that time of year but my neighbors there surf year around anyway. Best kayak fishing is
usually in August.Axel - 8-8-2006 at 07:11 PM
It is a summer spot. It takes a south to get in there like BajaGeoff said. Should be pretty quiet swell wise that time of year. I was there for 10
days mid July. Got 10 days of good surf down from the point and razors. Razors only was working 1 evening and not very good. The point was so so. You
can always get lucky.

a small group of us are going down to serf and fish we have 10 days is there a good place protected from the serf to lanch my kayak.
I always have a Mex. fishing liscense and boat permits for my kayaks been doing this for awhile just never been to Abreojos
We are also thinking of going to La Bocana have never been there either.rts551 - 8-9-2006 at 07:45 AM
You can launch your kayak numerous places right into the surf... or you can go to campo Rene (the estero) for quiet water.
La Bocana is an easy, short drive north.yellowklr - 8-9-2006 at 07:55 AM
I was down there last October and the weather was great, only a little wind in the pm.. Rts551 you say Kayak fishing is good in August... Where do you
recommend exactly I'll be there on the 20th of this month... Thanks

Can you drive from La Bocana to Asunci'on and If so how farAxel - 8-9-2006 at 10:24 AM
Im sure you can. I drove up that way but did not go all the way to Asucion. I went 50 miles up from Abre. Road from la Bocana was rough wash board for
quite a few miles.Axel - 8-9-2006 at 05:02 PM
BajaDan
Yes you can drive to Asucion from Abre. The road I descibed before does go all the way. Very well traveled so I doubt you will encounter any
obstacles.

Thanks, how far of a drive is it.
I have a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 woould like to drive up there for the day and Kayak fish then drive back to Abreojos before dark.Russ - 8-10-2006 at 06:33 AM
I stayed at Campo Rene in late May. Rooms $10/ night with a restaurant. I don't surf any more but the best break I saw was there off a reef. Just over
the air strip and sand dune. We were exploring on ATV's and went both directions as far as possible. Really beautiful. It's a little difficult to
access the beaches North. The manager said he was leaving but no ownership change so it should still be a great place. The road in is paved most if
the way. After that it's good dirt. Have FUN!rts551 - 8-10-2006 at 06:55 AM
Glenn
yes. still here. The fishing has hit a lull. Corvina should pick up again soon.
The shore was netted for halibut in July... so that died.

Around any of the reefs right off shore. Neighbors were fishing from surf boards with good luck last month. For whatever reason fishing is real slow
right now.Capt. George - 8-10-2006 at 11:51 AM

rts551: thanks for the Great Picture of the Kid holding the "Flattie". Just look at the Smile on his Face!!Does it get any Better than That?
Jogged old memories when my Virginia and I took a Trip to San "G", My Mother took along her 12Lb. Bass Rod, fishing at the Mouth of the Estrury she
caught a 25 Lb. Flattie!
Any late reports on "What is Happening" in that location?
From October to March the Lobster Fisherman were there, the rest of the time it was a very Lonely and Beautifull Place where you could catch lots of
Cabrilla a Mile from the Beach.
