Anyone familiar with Picazon and Hangman restaurants in San Jose? Good, bad, indifferent? Where are they located exactly?

There is no Picazon in San Jose anymore....only in Loreto:(

The Hangman is on Pescador across the street from Dante's in Chamizal. It is a fast food restaurant, Mexican style. Lotsa of interesting tacos on the menu....seso, lengue en salsa mostaza(my favorite), carne asada, several pork fillings and a chicken pibil....also quesadillas de flor de calabaza and the mushroom that grows on corn whose name I would not attempt to spell. They also have frijoles charro.
Some nights they have life music. I would advise getting a table far away from the stage....enough said.
Two people can probably eat there for under $10. I am not sure if they have beer or not. We always a bring a bottle of wine.
If you have an aversion to dirt floors you wont like this place. The decorations can entertain you while you are waiting for you order(the wait will not be long). It is family owned and run. It used to be that all the waiters looked alike because they were all the brothers and sisters. Very nice people and for being in dirt, they run a clean kitchen.
I highly recommend Hangman. Closed on Mondays for sure and maybe Tuesday during the summer. Open only at night, dont know the exact time but we always wait until dark.

No, dirt floors are not a problem. Some of our favorite restaurants have dirt floors.

A couple of months ago we ate at El Mirador family run palapa restaurant in San Carlos, Sonora on Catch-22 beach (where the movie was shot). It had dirt/sand floors and you had to shoo the chickens out of the way. Fantastic shrimp tacos and the coldest bottled Pepsi we have tasted anywhere in Mexico! You know the kind that gives you a headache on the first sip.

Another vote for the Hangman! Great selection of salsas and sauces. For lunch try Sandy's on the highway (on the right) to the airport, just beyond Sorianas.
