Police Beheaded in Baja?

theBajabum - 8-21-2006 at 02:35 PM

I realize this is real news however, for the past three years I can?t figure out why a newspaper that circulates and focuses STRICTLY in the Baja tourist areas put articles like this one on the front page.

I work night and day, seven days a week to try and promote Ensenada and every time I read the front page of GG,,,,,,I just shake my head and wonder how many more people are going to change their plans and go some where else?????other than Ensenada.......

Maybe because this type of info is what tourists really want to know about, in addition to the promotion stuff. We cannot just sweep it under the rug------it is REALLY HAPPENING, as you allude to here. You are right, I am sure, that many are making other plans---------who needs these type of threats when on vacation.

As has been said, the businesses (as well as others) in Mexico have GOT to put pressure on the Police and Government's of Mexico to clean up this seemingly out of control violence and mayhem by a few radicals, it seems to me.

WHAT......??? You'd prefer the recent reality of the rising crime rate in the Rosarito & Ensenada areas be kept secret, so that you can promote more business & encourage a whole new group of uninformed tourists to come down as unsuspecting potential new victims, loaded with cash???:fire::fire:

If those areas truly want to encourage tourism in a positive manner, then I suggest the local citizens & business owners send a very strong & very loud message to their local & national public officials as to what they feel is acceptable Police activity & response. This type of activity has been ignored for so long & to such an extent that, sadly, it has become the "accepted norm"....worse, it has become the EXPECTED norm!

If reporting of actual facts is hurting your business, then I suggest that you become part of the solution to get rid of the crime, rather than suggesting it be quietly swept under the rug!

Because that's where most of the expats live.

The GG primarily services the American community living in Baja. It does not actively promote tourism. Most of its readership is anti-tourist, present company included. ;D

Any business that caters to tourists would be stupid to advertise in the Gazette.
