In poking around both sides of the river today I can see the gringos are pouring in BIG TIME now. For the most part, the lack of electricty, sewer
and water still exists all along the river. Unless you are totally self contained in a camper of some sort, you will not be staying at your casa
here. All the reasonable priced hotels ($45 and less are booked up), but The Big S still has $80 rooms as of today. Reservations generally are NOT
being honored right now, and it's a first come-first served situation. You will be put on a waiting list in most places, and once you have a room you
can stay as long as you want. And bring insect repellent as the "skeeters" have just landed.

My assessment at the Oasis Sunday was that not one house was my definition of habitable unless it rolled in freshly that weekend. I can presume the
same is true of LaFortuna, and of the other developments on south side of river.
I heard today that even the Larsen residence had water in the house, tho it entered from the field in the back, not the front door. That means the #
of properties that escaped in a habitable condition is quite teeny. Not surprising that rooms are way hard to find.
