Redundant, but Travel Safety Worries

AAS - 9-24-2006 at 11:42 PM

Hate to be redundant, but we are traveling down in October with two cars and our two young kids. I can't shake the feeling that I could be putting my kids in an unstable situation. Have made drive many times over past 10 years. Can anyone comment on the reality of the situation given all the recent violence? We are always very safe and I know that bad things happen everywhere. Would you feel safe travelling with your young kids or feel you were putting them at risk?

How do you feel about driving through L.A. or any American city?

A ton more happen there DAILY than in a year in Baja...

Seriously, just use good judgement and stay out of the cities and don't make any roadside stops between TJ and Ensenada unless others are around... for now.

Have a great time...

Yesterday they found a dead male in some bushes right off main st. in Ramona. If I use the same logic I can't drive down main st Ramona anymore either. I believe that the only reason to worry in tj is if you were a drug dealer, a Cop or around either of them.
Bad things happen everywhere Just use common sense and you should be find. Mick

AAS, go for it, just keep your head in the right place. It sounds that if you have been doing it for 10 years you are already doing that....................
