I'm looking for fares using the online sites, and I'm not having much luck finding anything to Loreto for less than $350.00 round trip. Where can I find the 1/2 prices? Any help would be appreciated.

LaTijereta - 12-14-2003 at 01:02 PM

:yes:Give them a call at 800.237.6225 (Aerocalifornia's direct line)

I haven't checked it out....BUT....

USUALLY, when they advertise a 1/2 price sale..it's 'marketing'......in other words, it's 1/2 of the normal full fare, which is still more expencive that an "excursion" fare...which is advance purchase, min. max. stay , and as I used to joke about in the ol' days....you have to wear a blue posy, dance a jig and, and be in the right place, at the right time. These ads at one time made me really angry.....but, I've dumped my job, and now I'm "in the business of travel" rather than the "travel business" :o

Debra,
We purchased these tickets in the past, for travel to Loreto. I get them with "open" dates for travel to Loreto, and call back when we have dates closer to our travel times. This year we got the RT fare at $125 to Loreto, with proof of a FM-3 at the counter at their office in El Segundo, CA (near LAX).:tumble::tumble:

Good Luck

I assume you are talking RT from LAX?

The point I was trying to make it that it's at the whim of the airline and there is no rhyme or reason to air fares, you got a great deal a $125......(you must have brought that posy, LOL!) The most fun I ever had as a Travel Agent was about 15yrs. ago, there was a Eastern Airlines deal..."no bag" and an aircraft carrier came in the day the deal was launched....These guys had been stuck on a ship for 6 mons. (West Pac) for those of you in the know,.....I still remember the joy on the faces of those guys when I said, "well, do you have a problem leaving tonight, how many plane changes are you willing to make ,how fast can you pack? .....I did some really creative routing...but, those guys spent $99 bucks instead of the usual $1000 plus for a last minute trip home, I spent 16 hrs. on my feet that day cranking out tickets....not what I was looking for, but, you can't imagine the calls and repeat business I got from that day.....and I still get mail and cards from a couple of these guys......even a couple of pics. of the babies born from that trip home. LOL!

Travelocity sells AeroCa tix to Baja. Just got a notice from them - you can buy online for $157 RT L.A. to La Paz. Generally you must add to price of tix $82.50 for tourist card and airport fees. Still a good deal if you can't get through to AeroCA by phone.

Here's the current scoop. Doesn't sound exactly great to me except the LA run.

Stephanie Jackter - 12-14-2003 at 08:38 PM

Hermosillo to La Paz: $236.48(called back in 5 minutes and the price was $212.38)

Tucson to La Paz: $351.00 (called back in 5 minutes later and the price was $330.79)
Mazatlan to La Paz: $171

Los Mochis to La Paz: $165.00

LA to La Paz: $237.00

LA to CSL: $243.44

Flights are open ended and can be used anytime this calendar year.

Monterey to CSL: $256.88

AeroCal sale

mel - 12-15-2003 at 03:00 PM

I have just called AeroCal at 800-237-6225 from WA and purchased an open ticket round trip La Paz/LAX for a total including all taxes/fees for $222.64. I tried Travelocity and ABS but needed specific dates. I was on hold less than 5 minutes. The ticket will be mailed to me in WA tomm.--7-10 days. If that is true it will have been easy. Because it is an open ticket I must take the ticket to the La Paz office to make a res. and be reissued a new ticket when I am ready to travel.
