3 of us fished 6 days the first week of October. A few smallish dorado were caught in the north bay (Remidios, Smith and North-west side of Isla
Angel de la Guarda). We caught no dorado in the south areas (Animas or Isla Partida) but did not really try very hard there. 4baja fished the week
after us and may report from that area. Yellowtail, 10 to 15#, were at Remedios, the Horsehead reefs and Bernabe. We caught three squid at the
Horeshead yellowtail reef also.
An unusual catch, for me anyway, was larger bass (5# and up) while trolling feathers in shallow water (25' - 50') on the west side of Angel de la
Guarda, aroung the area of the ship wreck.
Never could find the whale sharks in the south bay, even though others said they were in the area - just bad luck.

Last fall I camped at Las Animas and kayak fished north and south of roca bernabe, there is some rough water that way and we didnt see any boats all

Alluminium boat (18') with a reverse chine planing hull with a 39 gallon tank and a 115 hp 4 stroke mercury. I have installed a Navman 2100F fuel
meter and at 4200 rpm I get about 5.5 mpg. I can easily carry another 5 or 10 gallons in cans if I really want range. If I run at 3500 rpm (22 or
23) mph I get well over 6 mpg. This, of course, is over water that I can plane on. If there is a big chop then of course I must slog through it at
12-15 mph and my mpg really drops. I recomend these fuel meters (about $150) for anyone that wants to dial in their fuel usage. I have an excel
spread sheet I can send anyone that will convert mph and gph into mpg. I understand that the newest versions of most engines now have these built
into the electonics but my 2005 does not.

An 18 foot aluminum boat with a mid-sized 4 stroke engine can get 6-7 mpg, if it's not run at WOT alot. That would only require about 30 gallons to

Fishrite BajaXL center consol. It boogies. These boats are made in Medford, OR (White City I think). They started making aluminum drift boats, then
