This past weekend I visited several early convents in the mountains and Huasteca region of Hidalgo. The first is the late 17th century church of
Metzquitlan.

How's the weather up there?
Sierra Weather

In Huejutla, which is a part of the Huasteca, the temps were in the upper 80s. Metzquitlan, which is in a gorge that cuts through the Sierra, was also
warm. In the mountains it was pleasant, although at the higher elevations around Tachinol and just before descending down to Huejutla, we encountered
very heavy fog. Hwy 105 is a very scenic mountain hiway, but is not the best road to be driving when there is heavy fog. Molango was very
pleasant-temperate.
