What's a good place in the Los Cabos area for 7 people (most of them bilingual and familiar with La Paz, but not the cape) to stop off for lunch? Good
places to shop? Things to see?

The "Los Cabos" area encompasses both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.
Outside Cabo San Lucas, I suggest you try La Concha just east of the Hilton Hotel in the corridor. It is a private restaurant, unaffiliated with any
hotel, and is right on the beach. A little pricey, but well worth it. Bring your bathing suits!
Another well known spot is The Office. It is also right on the beach. Good food and fun, but very touristy.
Not often frequented, but also very good, is the beach restaurant of the Hacienda Beach Resort and Hotel (the "old" Hacienda). The only people you
will see are a few hotel guests. For my money, this is one of the hidden treasures of Medano Beach!
If you are in the mood for good burgers and fries, try Zippers at Costa Azul just west of San Jose del Cabo. Again, right on the beach with a great
view of the surfers if there is a swell running.
A real "down home" experience can be had at Buzzards which is about eleven miles up the East Cape road out of San Jose del Cabo. Leave the San Jose
town square and go east to Playitas. Take a left at Playitas and go up the dirt East Cape Road. It will be in a barranca on your right just past the
first subdivision.
If you want something out of the way and a touch on the exotic side, go to Santiago which is north of San Jose del Cabo on the way to Los Barriles.
Turn left off the transpeninsular highway to go into town. You will know when you are there because there is a small blue sign at the corner with an
elephant on it. Santiago has a small zoo. Anyway, go to the Palomar for lunch. The chicken enchiladas are the best. If you want a touch of "old
Baja", this is where you will get it.
Have fun.

I used to read about "Latitude 22". Is it still there. It was a hang out for locals in Cabo.

Latitude 22 is still there. However, Mike was about to move to the location up by the electrical substation. It will now be the Latitude 22
Roadhouse. Don't know if he actually made the move since early November, but he was talking about it.
