This is a test. I've been trying for 4 days to post without luck.

Sorry to be a nuisance-that is if this posts.
I signed up in September and only posted once until a few days ago when I tried to post and couldn't log in. I sent for a new password and still couldn't log in and post. I tried to register as a new user but was never sent a password. I sent the details of my problem to the administrator but never heard back. Like wise I asked the moderator and never hear back-but that wasn't very long ago. Very frustrating-I wonder what my problem is? I asked on the Baja Travellers board but they told me to get lost. So I registered again with a new name and I can log in sometimes. Is it just me or do other people have this problem.

I'm fielding this comment at times... and it's almost always people that copy/paste the password but they copy it with an additional "space" character - and thusly paste in the wrong password. Almost without exception when they send me their assigned password - it works fine when I test it.

If it's not this, then it's likely to be the browser security settings set so high they don't allow cookies - which the software uses to identify the users.

The system does send the emails. Immediately.

Some users don't receive them - or don't see them - as they get scooped up in the email spam filters. If you're at AOL, you may not be seeing them, as AOL most of the time is filtering them out. If you're at Yahoo or SBCglobal (as noted in announcements), check your spam folder.

Never received.

I always answer these emails.

Maybe you got scooped up in my spam filter. ;)

Isn't that one and the same?

Hey Doug, how about some tacos like we had the other day?

Can't paste

sunslim - 10-31-2006 at 10:40 PM

Thanks for replying Baja Nomad.
I never copy and paste. I use a lot of boards and never have had this problem-I have cookies all over the place.
On the member list there is Super Administrator-you and then farther down there is a moderator which is a different E mail address.
I'm not using the quote properly but it seems to be the only way I can post. There doesn't seem to be a reply button.
Odd this username works but the one that I got a new password for the other day doesn't.

Uuuhh, try the quick post at the bottom of the page or select "Post Reply" or "new topic" to post. Uuhh....

The problem is many of the posts don't have the quick post at the bottom or "post reply". This one did but I wanted to use the quote.
I just posted to the "expat, american..." under General Baja Discussion. There was no "post reply" or quick post I had to use quote.
Mysterious.

If you're not logged in these won't appear... and if you are logged and and these don't appear - try refreshing the page and see if that helps. Might be a cache issue.

I being poking around trying to figure out what my problem is. I looked at the first 5 posts in each of the 10 subject headings (General Baja, Baja Q & A, etc.) Under all 9 of these 10 there is no place to post. Under this subject (Suggestions, comments...) 13 of 15 of the posts show 2 places to post. 2 don't.
Doesn't matter if I have tried to log in or not. When I come to the board and log in it tells me "Sorry not logged in.." Then if I post by going via a quote or using reply in the few that I can see a reply place it works. Then if try and post again I have to do the log in again.
I tried refreshing but it didn't make any difference.

Sunslim, there isn't a post Reply or a quick post at the bottom of each previous post. It is only at the bottom of the page when you scroll all the way down. At least that is the way it is on my computer.

I'm aware of that. For me it isn't anywhere-bottom of the page or elsewhere on the majority of posts.

Something I keep forgetting to mention. After I sucessfully post here it still says I am not logged in. So I'm making this post without logging in to see what happens.

I didn't realize that you can post without trying to log in. It works just shows me as anonymous.
Someone suggested that my security settings were too high. So I tried to change mine from medium to low-medium (this is what Windows 98 has) but it wouldn't let me. So then I put this forum on my "trusted site" list but it doesn't make any difference.
