7 Sisters questions

surfyap - 11-6-2006 at 10:35 AM

I'm considering a trip to the 7 Sisters. Departing 11/24/06 (Friday after Thanksgiving) and returning the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Most likely El Cordon and the neighboring points. I appreciate any insights with the following questions:

(1) Is it feasible with a 2wd (with shovels, jacks, etc.)?

(2) Is the area safe (crime)? Any particular spots to avoid?

(3) Is there a particular point that you would recommend over the others as far as road conditions, the wave, and safety?

(4) Know anyone interested in going?

(5) Ever gone to the 7 Sisters area solo? A buddy was planning to go with me, but has bailed. Yes, I know the buddy-system is best, but I haven't been able to find anyone else who is able to go.

Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated. If easier, feel free to e-mail me your phone number and a convenient time to call. Thanks for your help.

Steve

It's just north of TJ playas zone - right at the boarder. Great surf and camp spots.

There are secret tracts writ down in ancient tounge discribing those things of which you ask, but such information is guarded by the Sacred Saints of the Secret Spots. Surely a curse will fall upon him who divulges such information in a public forum.

Aww what the heck... just type in "Seven Sisters" in the Nomad search engine and you'll come up with a buch of answers... maybe even more questions. Also search "Sacred Saints of the Secret Spots" for some entertaining reading.

(1) Two wheel drive? No problem as long as you know your (and your vehicles) limitations. Low pressure and precise driving work wonders. (But bring the shovel and the jack anyway.)

(2) Define "Safe". It's as safe as the next place, I guess.

(3) If I was in 2WD, I'd start at the south end and work my way north. Find the point you like best and have fun.

(4) Yes, but some of us have this affliction called employment.

(5) Nope... seems like I always have somebody with me.

Bajamatic - 11-6-2006 at 04:43 PM

uh - that'd be 6 sisters.

Punta Scowling Guy With A Beard
Punta 10 Dudes With Lance Camper Shells
Punta Really Loud Quads
Punta Super Mushy But Fun On A Log
Punta Please Turn Down Your Reggae
and of course
Punta I've Been Coming Here For (insert exaggeration) Years

I can't imagine too many people ever went to The Wall before there were any walls only because I would think the first few people there were like, "Christ it's windy here. He should build some little walls to cower behind and help keep a fire lit."

But I believe you Grover!

4baja - 11-7-2006 at 07:26 AM

i believe its called the wall not from the wind walls but because of walls of rocks around the point. true name being altamira. great fishing in the summer for halibut and large black sea bass just outside. the sevens can get crowded in the winter so we tend to stay north of el cardon. up there you "will" need 4 wheel drive as there is no one to help in case you get stuck. a winch with a pull-pal comes in handy.

Isn't anyone going to tell him about the scorpions and what the narco-trafficors will do to him if he's on the wrong beach at the right time?

Reagan called it The Wall and it separated Germany. It is now called a fence and it separates...well, you get the picture.
Also, if Bajamatic is correct, that would put 7 sisters near Imperial Beach. This guy, been trying to get there>>>>>:bounce:
