Is there any other Nomads that enjoy this hobby here in Baja Ca.? the remoteness of Baja Ca. lends its self to this hobby

Bruce: during our 6 month stay in La Paz every year I listen to many shortwave broadcasts from many different countries. Frequently I get up at 3-4
AM to catch the broadcasts from the US regular AM stations too. It used to be the only way to get US news, but now with XM satellite radio we can
listen to CNN etc. Still like to hear some SF and LA stations and they are gone after sunrise.

I can remember a certain fellow somewhere near Mulege who was a short wave user amongst other freqs. He frequented the Chubasco net every morning and
was very active on all things radio. Had a mountian home with a view of Conception Bay and commented one morning on the Chubasco marine net on his
reaching Japan on very low power...2 watts, I think.
