Along the Tijuana/Ensenada Toll Road there are new signs at each toll booth announcing "Tarjeta Bancaria carriles 2-8" (or whichever lanes it

I believe it is ATM Card.....
Tarjeta - is a card and bancaria is from the bank = Bank Card

And with all the skimming crimes going on in the States with card info and PINs being stolen...I would NOT recommend that someone pay a $2.25 toll, in
Mexico with a bank card....It could end up costing you a lot more if your info is stolen. It's way too easy to hook up a scanner to the card readers
and install a small camera to record the keypad.

Dont know if it's prepaid or, what I have been told, a permission for the government to extract, through your credit card, that which is owed.

Nope that is the debit card system, and I agree that it is a night mare. Just get the llave. it is pre paid, and you get a discount per toll. So you
save a little coin. If you drive it a lot, then it is well worth it.
