Hi, I'll be heading across the Tijuana crossing next week with two French colleagues. They can't seem to get FMTs from the Mexican embassy in France,
so it looks like we'll be getting theirs at the border. I'm don't expect problems--they have passports, of course--but should I? Has anyone
experienced delays, denials, or other issues while accompanying travelers from non-U.S. countries?

Getting out of the U.S. and getting back in might present a different set of requirements. Be sure and do your homework on the re-entry part
especially.
Are you a U.S. citizen? If you're traveling with foreigners you may have to qualify yourself and a passport is the best way although not a
requirement.

thanks, hadn't thought of their re-entry issues. I have a U.S. passport and FMT and should have no trouble.

I'm Europian National too - never had a problem crossing into Mexico - The Visa is issued at the border. Didn't cost me a penny. Had just to fill 2
forms - one for custom, one for immigration, thats it. Unless there have been any changes last 6 month. Have a nice trip!!

Forgot to ask .............. Is this for an extended stay or a short visit?
One can be in Mexico for a week, used to be 72 hours, without an FMT, as you probably already know.

hi dennis, thanks. this for about a week, but it might be 8 days so I don't want to push the envelope.
Farasha, you mentioned a visa--will they need a visa AND an FMT? or is the FMT their de facto visa?

FMT - no, had just a regular STAMP in my passport on entry and when leaving. Would allow me to stay for some month. MAKE sure your friends keep the
GREEN US-Immigrationcard!!
IF they return within 28 days to US then the'll use it again, no need to get a new one issued, saves time on re- entry.
