While this is not Baja, it is close. Lots of Puerto Penasco vacationers may be late to work on Monday---it is a long ways around to get to the next
crossing and back to Phoenix. Puerto Penasco is the vacation beach for the Phoenix area.
Tourists Stranded in Mexico

American tourists are stuck in Mexico Sunday as protesters have blocked the border on the Mexico side near Lukeville, Ariz.
The protest started around 11 a.m. Sunday and nobody can cross into the United States.
Roger Maier said the protest is supposed to last until 6 a.m. Monday, but U.S. Customs agents don't know that for certain.
Monique Lorenz, a Valley woman who was traveling into Mexico said traffic was blocked in both directions because of the protest that reportedly
attracted nearly 2,000 Mexican residents.
She said the demonstrations are peaceful although it was a frustrating experience for many tourists trying to get back home and didn’t know a protest
would lock up the border.
Thought is was an interesting development close to Baja

On Edit---read another report that said the protest by the Mexicans is over a toxic waste dump they don't want built and they thought that blocking
the border crossing would bring attention to their protest.
