Bay of Los Angeles regarding road conditions and gas.

I want to save somebody $40 for the purchase of a gas can! We were traveling back from Mulege and stopping off at the Bay of Los Angeles for a few days. In checking the AAA guides we didn't see gas between Rosarito and El Rosario. In doing the math we knew we wouldn't make it doing the extra 80 miles to the Bay. Soooo we bought a 5 gal gas can to do the distance. Well--we got into the the little city now at the bay and found a Pemex and one big one under construction. silly us. Well better then running out of gas on Mexico 1. The place is beautiful must see. We found an RV camp just pass the busy plase next to a classy spa. It we very nice and uncrowded. if U want more info please write.

Great to hear new reports always!

Too bad you didn't know about Baja Nomad before your trip!

Here is my truck getting gas in L.A. Bay in October, 2005! That was shortly after the new station opened...

You could have gotten gas there before the Pemex station as well... Two vendors sold gas in town, hauling it in from Guerrero Negro or Villa Jesus Maria and reselling it for about 75-90 cents a gallon markup... Also, gas is sold at the junction at Hwy. 1...

That spare gas can is still a god idea to have, however!

Thanks for the reply. I did see the gas sellers you mentioned. The bay was worth the $40 for the gas can. The road was a masterpiece off Hwy 1 and our campground was beautiful. Was empty except for our group and was right next to the beach. Hot showers too. A little further down the dirt road out of town next to the luxury spa. Richard
