Nomads,
Is this a worthy service. From what I heard it was.

For what its worth, the Mexican Government provides no cost roadside service called green angels. Call 078 on your cell phone.

The nomad jury is still out on whether or not the green angels are a realistic traveler's aid.

Comments?

might be timing but i havent seen a green angle out on the highway 1 in the last 6 yrs
i have seen them in the towns seemed like they were jusy jawing?? i know there quite famous for giving aid and when i first started driving baja i would see them offten on the road i hope im wrong. even if i didnt need then it sure felt good that they were there

I concurr with Jerry.

Once upon a time they were valuable. Now, I almost never see them on the road; only in towns.

Self-sufficiency,other gringos and locals is who I put my trust in.

See them regularly on Hghy 5 both directions - by the way, they have new trucks that are more white than green. The helped me one time.

i see them every trip...but...

not visible like the "old days" when the road was potholed

I think

it's because of 078 that we didn't have?
But they are out there and suposedly more of them and better equiped.
maybe 078 allows them to be more like on stand by mode?

We still see them, usually pulled over on the toll road helping someone. We honk and wave and usually get a wave back. We don't see as many as days gone by, but they're still there.

p.

Mexican Auto Service is a great service to have.

Just like AAA. They come and help when you are stuck on the road. I have it. I know the owners personally. have watched this grow from infancy. They put alot of time and hard work into this to get it started. Working in Mexico has not been an easy thing, but they keep getting better and better with more and more areas being covered. Try it you'll like it. It's another great tool to have in your travel bag. k:yes:
