Today the FCC passed an order to eliminate the ham test code requirement. This has been coming. Usually takes 30 days after order to become
effective.

The tech license is still restricted to certain bands, I believe.

The tech license is still restricted to certain bands and power. but now it is so easy to go on to general that there wont be many techs for long.

There were also changes made in the two classes of Technician's radio licenses. If I read this correctly, both classes of licenses will be able to
utilize the bands above and below 30 mhz.

I'm back to shopping for a radio on ebay now that the holidays have passed.

Think that is only certain freq. segments in 4 bands below 30 mhz.
