Help me Plan my Trip

I would really appreciate the input from the all of you fine Nomads to help me plan my trip. Here are the details thus far: The wifey and I will be flying into Cabo San Lucas sometime around March 23, 2007. we can stay up to 10 days if we want to. This is where I need some help. I am thinking about getting a hotel room somewhere in the Cabo San Lucas area for 1-2 nights and then renting a car and head out and explore for 3-5 days/nights, then back to Cabo and be a Tourista for another couple of days. We are pretty adventurous and flexible about our schedule or lack thereof for that matter.

1. Where would you suggest we go for the 3-5 days ? I was thinking about heading towards La Paz or Toto Santos and make a loop.

2. When I get to CSL can I get our FMT's at the airport?

3. I have read much about using ATM's to get cash (pesos), I use Bank of America, will my ATM card work at any of the machines?

You will fill in the paper work for your tourist card when you are on your flight. They give it to you with your customs declaration form.

Personally, I would stay in San Jose for a few nights instead of Cabo. It depends on what kind of atmosphere you like. San Jose has more character than Cabo. Your idea of doing the loop is great and both Todos Santos and La Paz are fabulous places to stop for a night. The Todos Santos Inn is a great place for a one night stay.

Others might have suggestions on where to stay on the East Coast. Have a great trip!

I'd second staying in San Jose instead of Cabo.
Take the loop to Todos Santos, then La Paz, then the coast road from La Ribera back to San Jose. Stay in Todos Santos, La Paz and Los Barilles and/or Cabo Pulmo; then back to Cabo.

How about some more information. What category hotel are you looking for? Do you dive, snorkel, just hang out? Do you like nightlife or fishing?

depending what you like if your liking a road trip id sugest taking the loop to todo then lapaz, loreto, conception, and muelege bact throu lapaz ,east cape, its only a bout 800 miles total round trip and it will bive you a good idea what bajasur is all about id vote for skipping cabo too

I think a trip all the way to Mulege would be too much for 3-5 days. Lots of driving and not enough time to explore!

We'll bring our snorkels and masks but leave the fins home this trip, so just light water exploring. I would love to go to Mulege and Loreto but may save that drive for another trip :?:

I was thinking 1-2 nights in the heart of Cabo so we could see all of the Tourist spots like Cabo Wabo, The Office and some of the other places I've heard about, after we get that out of our system we could go see some of what I'm looking for in Baja, which is the feeling that I'm going back 50-100 years in time. Deserted beaches, old mexican towns, mom and pop taquerillas, cheap cervesas, nice friendly people, little kids I can give a few bucks to and hopefully get a big smile in return. I guess I'm looking to experience many different things in a short amount of time.....Is 10 days enough? should I make it 14 ?

you should make it at least 30 days if ya can or just leave the return trip open? lol :yes:

you might find out if the whales will be in lopez matao the end of march??
