Eco Mundo alternative

Marmeon - 12-30-2006 at 09:09 AM

I sent an email to Eco Mundo to find out if they are open. It will definitely be disappointing if they are closed. They were great and it's perfect for what I want, which is a place to stay a few days and then launch a kayaking trip to Loreto.

Can anyone suggest an alternative? What I need is a place on the water, where I can safely leave gear while I take my car to Loreto, and that is easy to get to by bus coming back from Loreto. All suggestions appreciated. Thanks for the heads up about Eco Mundo, and also for any suggestions.

Eco Mundo email bounced

I tried emailing Eco Mundo and their email is no good, so it looks like you're probably right about them being closed. Bummer!:(

If you don't know anybody on that route...why not give yourself an extra day, then go make friends with some responsible long-term camper on any of the several camping beaches in the Bay? There are lots of regular winter campers there who might do you a favor. As far as roadside business there are these: Anna's at Santispac? Bertha's at Burro beach? Boney's at Coyote? All these are along the bus route from Loreto to Mulege and might store your gear, etc. for a small fee, if any.

In Mulege, there is the Serindad Motel on the river estuary..possible storage there, too.

Beat the bushes...make buddies. Good luck.

I would consider going to Annas at Santispac and talking to Russ. He runs the resturant and stays in the house behind it . Nice guy, also has hot showers, food and drinks there. Sure he would watch for you
