One last question before we go!!! As per everyones advice I'm going to stop at the border in TJ and get tourist cards for me, my wife and my
daughter. We have a birth certificate for our daughter and drivers licenses for my wife and I. Also we have expired passports for the two of us. What
we don't seem to be able to find is the birth certificates for the adults. And it's probably too late to get copies. So what do you think? Drivers
license enough? Passports but expired? Forget the whole thing and stay in North Baja only? I realize that only too soon we'll need passports to

certificate with current ID. Baja California and Sonora sometimes only require a current ID, but it's wise to check with the consulate first."

We're renting from Dollar which lets you go anywhere in Baja for an extra $25 per day, which includes insurance. Mostly doing that because it's easy,

I have waited to get my tourist card until I got the Guerrero Negro border Imagration office When we got there my wife could not find her Birth Cert.
We got the "YOU HELP ME I HELP YOU" line from the guy cost me $20 comming and same guy on our way back got another $15 "but" Im not reccomending you
try this.
Just stating what happend.
Have also gone through there when Imagration office was closed on our way down and on our way back

drive south goes well, we'll leave a trip report as soon as we get back.
And for BajaDanD, is that snow that truck is stuck in or just some extra fine sugar sand, say from Destin or something?

I wouldnt try the extra Andrew at the TJ border If you are going to go that route wait until you get to GN The Imigration office at TJ/ San Ysidro is
a little more official and they might get upset if you offer the AndrewJ. especially if there are witnesses to the Trans.
BUT then again I am in no way suggesting that this is OK to do.

I assume that the insurance is by a mexican insurer if not US insurance means nothing in Mexico. A small dent will cost you money and maybe some jail

It was not meant as a bribe. Simply that the permit payment is more important than the ID necessary to obtain it.
