Hi, planning my first trip to Baja and its looking like we will be crossing the border on good Friday. Is there anything that I should be concerned
with by going there over a holiday? We are travelling by motorcycle and will be doing a mix of camping and hoteling.
thanks!

Semana Santa? Its only the second biggest holiday in Mexico! You will
have plenty of company, everywhere you go.
Do you have reservations? Your going to need it. Have fun, and get out of your box and meet the people.

Palm Sunday is April 1 and Easter Sunday is the 8th.

Hey, Thanks for the replies!
I was just looking through one of my guidebooks and saw a reference to Semana Santa. Looks like we'll be crossing the border on Saturday the 7th.
We are planning on leaving a truck at Hacienda Santa Veronica or Ranch Ojai and heading out on the bikes from there. We really have no idea how far we
are going to make it every day since we are just going to go with the flow and see what happens. The plan is to camp 50% of the time so wherever we
end up in the evening is where we'll stay.
Hopefully the crowds will die down after Easter.

Drive defensively. There are lots of drunk drivers out that weekend, probably not the best time to travel.

If you have not been to Baja during a Semana Santa in the past, I expect you will surprised ( dare I say horrified?) at the numbers of partiers you
will encounter. It is a different world here during Semana Santa. If you want to come be with lots of folks camping at every playa, that is the
perfect time to come.

Its really a great experience, the beaches will mostly be families and you won't have a worry have fun.

If you are heading out or RSV and going to Ville de Trinidad, sorry spelling, I hope you know how to reach the saw mill to get gas, You may want to
try and make reservations at mikes sky ranch but it may be full already. I think there is a new place closer to V.T.D that someone else may be able to
give you the name of. Good luck finding places to stay.
