Yes, Tia Juana (Aunt Jane) was the original name for the river and rancho... and to most it is how we still say (and spell) this biggest city in Baja!

And one of my favorite sayings is "I have 'bean' to San Quintin" If you make it rhyme you are saying it right. Hah!

I have heard the word,"Chapultepec," slaughtered, mangeled, peed on, twisted, ruined, dissed, and otherwise mispronounced so often that Im not sure I
spelled it correctly. I'd better go look it up.

How about adding Vizcaino to your list.... Also, how about Erendira. Can't spell (without looking at the map) or pronounce these correctly either.

If you do a search on Nomad, you will find an extended list... I just posted what seems to be the most common ones I see repeatedly.
Santa Rosalillita (Santa Rosaliita) and San Quintin (San Quinten, San Quentin), most recently... Usually it is Guerrero Negro (Guerro Negro) and
Puertecitos (Puertocitos) that are the all time winners!
One that is from a few years ago I just thought of was San Agustin which was even misspelled on signs as San Augustin...
Then there's the all time 'it doesn't matter how you spell it' rancho SANTA YNEZ which has t shirts 'Santa Ines' and both ways are spelled on signs at
the entrance road! On Nomad I have seen Inez, Ynes, Innes, etc.

YES... that was on the longer list! We just don't see La Ribera posted much here! Problem is the 'v' in Spanish has a sound nearly the same as a 'b'.
