Sorry Farasha.

FARASHA - 1-13-2007 at 01:32 PM

Hey - lizard - No problem - lots of time I have been mistaken >f<

Mexitron - 1-13-2007 at 01:46 PM

I remember seeing Pico Matomi and surrounding hills/mountains with snow years ago--very beautiful. Never seen it around Maneadero though.

29 degrees and freezing rain here in Fort Worth...everything coated with ice...more to come they say...

Cypress - 1-13-2007 at 02:05 PM

Snow! Have seen pretty much all sorts, from "diamond dust" to great big "fluffy biscuits". Right now it's coming down thick, closer to "diamond dust", but the sun isn't shining to make it glitter.:tumble:

Wiles - 1-13-2007 at 02:14 PM

Here in south Florida ....81 degrees.... at 4:15pm

FARASHA - 1-13-2007 at 02:32 PM

Darn - everybody seems to get snow but Europe. Sitting in sunshine at afternoons - like in Spring, with balmy 15°Celsius (?fahrenheit). Trees growing green buds already.

Bajalover - 1-13-2007 at 02:47 PM

Yipes, it's cold every where. Guess I'll just sit here in Borrego Springs,CA for awhile before going anywhere. This morning 34F. CCCCcccccold. But not as bad as all you folks north of here. Didn't think Ensenada would get that cold !

Have seen it near Tecate and around La Rumorosa. It even snowed in Yuma once, but that was 1937.

Rub it in Wiley, rub it in!!!

We live close to Morro Bay and had two inches of ice in the dog's water bowl this morning. If I HAVE to be cold, I'd rather do it in Ensenada where all of our firewood is, and not here!

The mountains behind Bahia de Los Angeles were snow covered one year, very beautiful indeed!

Hurry up sunscreen season!

DENNIS - 1-13-2007 at 04:28 PM

Yeah --- Snow on the hilltop near Maneadero. Saw it there a couple of years ago as well. Im in Punta banda area and at noon it was fifty degrees on my front porch. That's meaningless to some of you folks but, for here it's cold.

Pescador - 1-13-2007 at 04:33 PM

Good Golly, this must be a reversal of some type, of global warming. I knew I was suspicious.:):):)

Snow in San Diego?

DianaT - 1-13-2007 at 04:34 PM

Here in Imperial Beach, my neighbor was up at 5:30 a.m. and swears that mixed in with a drizzle there were snow flakes.

Only got sprinkles from this storm, but it sure is cold.

To all my Nomad Amigos.
Here i set in the Great Sate of Texas Panhandle-Not Snowed in but Iced In !!
We are cover with about an Inch of Ice, Sleet, and Ice Pellets. Roads are Closed, unable to get to town{Still have enough mixings for a Two Eyed Tequilla after going out to Feed the Horses.
As I walk along on the Ice, I think of all those Beautifull Beaches in Baja Sur.

But Alas! I am on another Adventure in my Short Life of 75 Years!! Helping my Beautufull Wife to realize her Dream of becoming a Texas Cowgirl, rasing a Cremello Mare, her Boy Rocky, Two Dogs, two Kittie Cats.

I do miss Loreto and its People, The Sea of Cortez and it's Fish, The Sunrises and Sunsets all fixed in my Mind and Heart. So all you Baja Adventurers-- Go! Go! Go!
Never, Never stop Dreaming!

Those are some very unhappy looking strawberry plants.:(

We don't expect to get the freeze at the beach----we had to cover a few plants, but no big deal---not like a lost crop.

:(

Mexitron - 1-14-2007 at 11:34 AM

Hey Skeet--just passed through the Panhandle last week--never seen that area before--very beautiful!! We're heading to Palo Duro for camping in the spring. Do you drive to Baja or fly?

Ft. Worth is icing up but still driveable...electricity is blinking off occasionally though so some lines west of town are probably affected...

AmoPescar - 1-16-2007 at 01:20 AM

I took this picture...

of the Sierra San Pedro Martir from the Valle Chico in Feb, 2001. We were on our way from El Camote's in the Eldorado Ranch in San Felipe to Matomi Canyon.

Sure makes that bottle of Pacifico look a lot colder.

4baja - 1-16-2007 at 07:48 AM

8 degree here at my cabin with 6 inches of snow. had to buy grip heaters for the quads.

Oso - 1-16-2007 at 04:49 PM

Paper says coldest here in Yuma in 35 years. If I had a big freezer I'd stock up on OJ now. Wonder how Florida citrus is doing?

DENNIS - 1-16-2007 at 05:30 PM

They're saying that orange juice [ trying to avoid the initials ] will probably fall in price as much of the damaged crop can still be used for juice.

synch - 1-18-2007 at 01:53 PM

Doesn't El Dorado get snow quite often?

Probably true. I have to quit believing the news.

Which El Dorado?

The development near San Felipe... No, not at sea level to 2,000' anyway... That's low desert... Or I should say it would be very rare... like snow in San Diego... maybe once in a lifetime (Nov. 1967 was the last time, I recall).

However, I have seen snow in the lower mountains just west of San Felipe... and as Amo's photo from President's Day in 2001 shows, in the Sierra San Pedro Martir, every winter.

jeans - 1-18-2007 at 06:46 PM

That looks very familiar, Amo!
