Needed a classy place to take some first time visitors.
Las Rosas was certainly that, and more.
It is just a couple miles past the final toll gate, just about the first hotel in Ensenada from the North.
Awesome location on the rocky point, lots of cruising dolphins, sea birds, etc.
Quiet place, not a lot of kids (probably due to the price of the rooms)
And yes, it is pricey, $125 and up per night.
But a place that you don't have to explain nor aplogize for.
Highly recommended!DENNIS - 1-26-2007 at 07:31 PM

We've NEVER had any good food there and a lot of people have become ill after eating there.
The entire complex was designed for rich "Gringo" boaters" when there was a advantage for-going import duties..DENNIS - 1-26-2007 at 08:33 PM
Well, if you arn't a rich gringo boater, why did you go there?Mike Supino - 1-26-2007 at 08:35 PM

I agree with you Bajarunner.Las Rosas is a very nice , beautifully appointed Hotel, off the beaten path so to speak. We first visted there soon after
they were opened and had an awesome dinner. Clams, lobster, fresh salad, and fabulous deserts! The lounge area is very serene and
welcoming, overlooking the infinity pool and the ocean, great c-cktails also. Did you know that it is owned and operated by Marco Antonio Novelo? Son
of Antonio Novelo, proprietor of Estero Beach Resort? Great guy, and I have known him most of my life.Ask if he is there when you go back.Tell him
Sally sent you .( really!)

One of our favorite places to eat in Baja. Consistantly good food and above average service..................Just a few tads more expensive than
the taco stands.
The way the pool flows into the Pacific draws you eyes to the gulls, occasional surfers, puffy clouds and choppy waves. Just a wonderful spot.
Go there for Sunday brunch and you will we rubbing elbows with the cream of Ensenada. Also lots of weddings out by the Tennis courts.
Don't really know why but there always seems to be folks doing Mexican commericals out by the pool........
We were there the second week after it opened and lunch there at least 4 or 5 times a year.
No Dennis they do not have a Chinese restaurant.
Sally,,,,,,,,,,,off the beaten path is a real stretch........50 feet of the main road into Ensenada................But amazingly quiet and very easy
access........exit is a bit of a problem if you wish to head north.Sallysouth - 1-26-2007 at 09:32 PM
Yeah I know Bernie, off the beaten path , I meant like NOT in Ensenada, and in its own space. The pool is beautiful, and when you enter the lobby you
look all the way across the marble floors, thru the lounge, across the infinity pool to the ocean. It is a very lovely site. I would guess that the
commercials are done there because of that beautiful setting, and possible because Marco is active in the town and charities.(just guessing )
