Prescription Snorkeling Mask in Loreto?

Litza - 1-28-2007 at 05:04 PM

I am coming to Loreto in a few weeks, and my trip includes time to snorkel with the group I'll be travelling with (Paddling South with Trudi Angel) I wonder if anyone knows a place that I might rent a prescription mask as my eyes are pretty crappy. I won't even entertain the idea of snorkeling if I know I won't be able to see a dang thing, and that would stink.
Anyone have any suggestions?

No way in Mexico. You should buy one before you come down. They cost 50 to 200 bucks.

When I wore glasses (had the LASIK surgery several years ago-best thing ever!!!), I got an old pair of glasses, took off the ear pieces and epoxied the frames (with the lenses) into a very inexpensive mask. Sounds hokey, but it solved the problem.

I agree, buy one. I think I got mine at Sport Chalet, and several years ago it was around $40, you might be able to find it less expensive online but go into sport chalet and determine the strength first. Definately a waste of money renting in the long run, prescription or regular....
