Most of the bigger markets in town will exchange empties.

The markets will exchange empties for full cases, but if you want to cash out the empties when you leave, you'll need a receipt from that same market.

In the good 'ole USA some states won't pay deposites on cans
etc. from other states.

Also, you don't usually get charged extra to trade in singles. It comes in handy if you are leaving town for a while and 12 of your 20 are empty.
You'll feel better heading down the dirt road with a full case. It could save you another trip into town.

Same market = If you don't have deposits to begin with you'll be charged for the deposits. If you want the $ back for the deposit when you leave you
have to return them to the same market you bought them from with the receipt. Sorry I didn't make that clear.
