I agree with Bill on this. Some of you may remember the aborted commercial attempt at air service from LAX to TIJ and LAX to San Felipe. Seems the
Feds don't think much of this and will discourage attempts to control "commercial "entry points from Mexico. From the brief resarch I have done it
seems to be a Fed Turf War but that is conjecture on my part.
Private For hire aircraft seem to be ok but for the regular public it doesn't seem feasable.
One or another proposals for linking Tijuana International and U.S. usage has been around now for at least twenty years. From Joint use to Brown
Field development, the ideas come back like the Red Tide and each time go absolutely nowhere. Trying to work out some sort of Tijuana connection even
outdates the Quixotic attempts to get a foot in the door at Miramar and will, once again, go nowhere. |
