Another gorgeous sunrise is happening now on the beach, right in front of me. Last night's moonrise was simply amazing !! From dark to red glow to
bright red/purple kilroy then to glorious, intense oranges and reds in full circle and finally rising to lighter shades or orange then yellow then
white !
We hear the wind is supposed to blow today so there are many up early, nervously awaiting the potential (yes, winsurfing is a very neurotic sport).
Sails and gear are rigged everwhere, yoga is happening all around, dogs are walking the beach, some with humans, roosters are crowing, parents are
doing coffee and watching their angels sleep, life is rich !Diver - 2-3-2007 at 07:00 AM
And did I mention that it is 26 degrees at home now and that the sister-in-law said it was -23 degrees in Steamboat yesterday ???

Legs,
Yes, unfortunately, it was sooo mezmerizing that I didn't think of the camera until it was too late. Tonight I shall watch again and hope for more
magic, with camera in hand.
Now is time for sail rigging and anxious wind watching.
T H E Y say that it is supposed to blow today !!shari - 2-3-2007 at 09:20 AM
Blew hard here yesterday but is nice today ....but there is a monster swell for the last couple days should be reaching you about now I figure! Hang

I hung out in LV for years and loved it, even before the windsurfers found it. I stopped about 3 years ago. Gary and Nancy from Oregon along with many
knew me as Fisherman Larry as I wasn't a windsurfer. I last I spoke with Gary he said things were very different there now. Hard to stargaze due to
the streetlights, many new building etc. I long for the old day of LV. I'll be by sometime again. Then it was San Lucas Cove for a while. Now I'm in
San Carlos and love it there. I do miss the Baja though.Diver - 2-4-2007 at 07:31 AM
Acu,
Yes, many changes in La Ventana over the years. MANY more gringo houses, more restaurants etc and the street lights. No worries though, the moonlight
has been brighter than the streetlights anyway !!
And the fishing..... 4 Sierra, 1 Dorado and a few others just last trip out in the 14' tin boat ! A couple of Pargo the evening before...
Still gotta fish Asuncion with Juan for my 50 pound yellow like Iflyfishandlovelywife got !!shari - 2-4-2007 at 06:23 PM
Juans polishing up his gear now diver...gonna be pretty hard to beat the Iyellowtail fish though. Gorgeous here today, hot, sunny..slight breeze.Von - 2-4-2007 at 10:05 PM

Sally-
I still watch the Baja boards but I am now in San Carlos when not working in US as I said so I am on those boards everyday now, like I used to be here
for many years.
5 months ago my mom called and siad she wanted to move to Mexico to get out of the cold. There is no place that fits for her in Baja and friends of
mine have told me of SC for years. So we gave it a try and both fell in love with the place. We have an apartment a block from the beach, ocean and
mtn view, 1 block from the bank, OXXO ( a super nice 7/11), 3 blocks from the mercado which is great for her as she doesn't drive. All for $300 a
month, which I split with her.
It's 4 hours below the board and even with San Lucas Cove. And after over a doezen years of launching over the sand, rocks and the tides its really
nice to have a marina! SC is a great place and I am alos working there now with all the neccessary paperwork filed doing acupuncture.
I will always love Baja, it is the frontier and very special. Within the next year or two I want to take my boat (16' tin boat w/50hp) from San Lucas
Cove to La Ventana cove hopping and fishing along the way.
Thanks for remembering me and I'll see you in time I'm sure.

Pompano,
Yes, quite a mix of kiters and windsurfers these days; all the more colorful sails on and over the water.
Seems this place is filled with fisherman as well.
Pretty good winter fishing and I hear that this area and Los Muertos are pretty good year round.
And yes, Zack is beachmaster. Today everyone was asking him where he went when we couldn't find him last night. I think he has visited his wisdom on
every camper in the place. He is unofficial Mayor of La Ventana (campground).
We saw Diego the veggie man at Requeson; he says "big mister with big white truck" was here but is gone now. Very best wishes to you and your
gracious and beautiful wife. Sorry we will miss you this year.

Gary must have passed the crown when he had his house built. He used to be the unofficial Mayor of La Ventana (campground). This was from I'd say 1999
maybe 2000 until the last time I was there in 2003.

We have lived there for over 15 years.
Nice place to visit but too windy to live there
We love it !!AcuDoc - 2-7-2007 at 02:06 PM
Gary and Nancy also have a house on the gorge
I'm sure windsurfers know them
