Natalie Ann - 2-4-2007 at 11:56 AM

It is almost time for Carnaval in La Paz, a time of much fun and celebration. I cannot be there this year, but I can share with y'all some of my Carnaval memories.
First there is the yummy food.

TENGO HAMBRE!!!!!!!

AmoPescar - 2-4-2007 at 03:04 PM

Hi Natalie Ann

Girl...that all looks SO good, BUT...Al Pastor is my favorite too. I can just imagine some rolled up in those fresh-made tortillas in the first pic.

I guess I'm gonna have to visit the taco place nearby in Oceanside that has great Al Pastor...yummmm!!!

Amo

Si, TT - tambien tengo mucho hambre!
Ever since posting these pix, I have been sooo hungry - and nothing in my frige nor in the store seems to be just what I'm hungry for.

Amo is right. The best of foods is tacos al pastor on fresh tortillas - with some hot sweet onion and the hottest of roasted chiles... yep, I do believe that would do it. And from the panderia, some of those nice little gorditos to take home for a midnight snack.

It is all very tempting, Farasha. A person could gain 10 pounds at Carnaval, if they forget to dance the night away! :bounce::dudette::biggrin:

ALRIGHT Natalie Ann...

You need to stop talking about Al Pastor!!!! I have not been able to get to the taco stand yet and now I'm starting to smell them in my mind and drooling uncontrollably!!

Michael

Michael - only reason I will stop thinking about al pastor or talking about it, is that soon I will be South again and eating al pastor! You live in Carlsbad - just a short drive away. You and yours oughta take a daytrip, join me and mine... and each of us can drool on our own (taco, not keyboard). ;D:biggrin:

STOP IT!!! Drooling into my Coffee cup now, will have to spend now the rest of my morning, with wiping mouth! Way to go for me, to get either of these yummy stuff! :( >f<

Farasha - I whisper to you across the night skies....
La Paz... Carnaval... next year... same general time, ends at the stroke of Ash Wednesday. Make plans now. See you there.

Thanks for the pics... we'll be in LP for Carnival, so I'm looking forward to finding these places... I REALLY want one of those nice big fluffy tortillas.....

Ah La Paz; was there earlier last week.
You can find anything from sushi to tai food and burgers to the best local cuisine. The Malecon was spotless and Los Arcos was hopping.
Unfortunately, La Perla keeps going downhill in service and food quality; the place was almost empty.
