Sunday started with another nice sunrise, a few small clouds and signs of coming wind. The wind was more than expected and kept building through the
day. We rigged smaller twice but enjoyed every minute as my wife and I traded sailing and keeping an eye on our 5 year old little man.
Around 3:00 it was time to hit the showers and get ready for Comitan's Superbowl party. We sent the little man to a neighboring camp to get his older
sister and prepared for the trip to La Paz. About 15 minutes later, neither kid had returned so I went after them figuring they were distracted as so
often happens....
The little man had never made it.... ? So we casually searched the campground and after over 30 minutes started getting parentally frenzied.
OK, think like a 5 year old; no, he couldn't have..
I went to the beach and looked just over 1/2 mile down and sure enough, there he was, being escorted back towards camp by my daughter's 12 year old
friend and her yellow lab.
Frenzy ended; almost 90 minutes later.
He had misunderstood and gone to get his sister at another friend's house way down the beach instead of a nearby, neighboring camp.....kids !!
So it was late and we would not have been able to make Comitan's before halftime with a 2 hour round trip drive; and Da Bears w e r e l o os i n
g .....So we went to a local restaurant to eat and watch the remander of the game. Once there, we met a number of very nice people who had met our
little man on his journey. They had watched his progress with concern until he found his destination. He was surely safe the whole time he was
missing.
Ah La Ventana.......thank goodness !!
Rest assured, we would much rather have made it to Comitan's on time !!
Also, went to bed around 9 Sunday night and no moonrise ?
Another wonderful, windy, sailing day today. Lot's of tired smiles in camp tonight !! A fresh pollo smelling wonderful in the camper oven and both
kids showered and home for the night.
Life is still good.
