I'm going to a wedding in Cabo for a week and I want to spend another week somewhere else. Anyone been to Todos Santos or El Pescadero this time of
year? Is it alright for a single female traveller? I don't have a car or anything, maybe I can find a bike to cruise around on? I want to know if its
safe, if the beach and the town are that far apart, where to stay, etc. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You may also want to consider La Paz. Big fiesta 2/15 - 2/20
a more peaceful version of Mardi Gras...see other threads re: La Paz
Todos Santos and environs safe for anyone....still, always use some common sense as a lone female traveler.
good luck and enjoy your trip to Baja!

The surf camp is pretty safe, lot's of folks around all day.
Email them and they are good at getting back to you with any questions.

Pescadero/Todos Santos

Hi Katherine!
Feb/March is a great time of the year to visit Pescadero and Todos Santos.
Both towns are about as "safe" as you're going to find in BCS, and certainly a whole lot more so than Cabo.
As far as getting around goes, I'd suggest getting a rental car if you can afford it. There's a lot to see that you simply won't be able to access
without one. If you don't want one for the whole week, you can get one in TS without having to go all the way to Cabo or La Paz to pick it up.
Beaches: The two towns are about 10km apart, and while it is possible to walk from the center of TS to the beach, it's a pretty long walk, and the
beach there (near TS) is not the best for swimming. Pescadero is even farther from the beach. A bike may be more trouble than it's worth, as you won't
need it in town (TS), and riding along the highway between the two towns is dangerous at best due to narrow road/no shoulder. - If you don't want to
rent a car, you can catch a bus back and forth between the two towns, but that won't get you to the beach. -
I saw a reference to the Pescadero Surf Camp in a previous post, and if you decide to stay there, they do run a truck back & forth between the
camp and Los Cerritos. It's probably one fo the safest places to swim in the TS/Pescadero area due to the sandy bottom and (relatively) calm currents.
There's also a small taco stand w/water, beer, etc. and a couple of places to rent surfboards/bodyboards if you're up for it.
For a little more info, check out the Calendario at:

There's a section in the back (last pages) with maps of town and beach info.
Have a great trip! C

Come on up to Todos Santos! Personally as a single female I would suggest staying in Todos Santos. Although Pescadero is a lovely town, it is by far
more isolated. You would be more likely to meet other singles... lots of activities going on this time of year. Accomodations are plentiful and run
the gamut from $50/night to $250/night. Try Casa Sofia...she is a Nomad!!!! maryann@bajarescue.com

Thanks everyone who replied. Its greatly appreciated. I might look in to renting that car, I've come to understand it may be necessary in the area
though I'd rather not bother. I will look into the hotels mentioned.
Thanks again guys!

you can rent a car for about twenty bucks a day, at least in La Paz.
you'll miss seeing an awful lot without a vehicle..
good luck and enjoy the wedding!
