They hunt Black Brandt(sp) in San Quintin in Feb& March I believe. Try Campo Lorenzo near the Old Mill Im not sure how you go about getting you shotgun down there though. I know some people who go down there and hunt every year. Ive been in San Quintin in March and a lot of the panga captians were guiding hunters instead of fisherman.

thx Jorge - guess my dreams of bird murder in baja will be dashed.

so i'll go to mazatlan or la pressas for my daffy duck tales.

Best way to hunt in Baja for small stuff is to make friends with a local. They are always up to go hunting and can lend you his rifle. We take our pals rabbit hunting...oh how I love JackRabbit Mole! They also love to eat Curlews...pretty tasty too and yep Brandts are downright delicioso.

Well we eat alot of jackrabbit here and never seen a worm before...maybe the desert rabbits are cleaner?? And they are huge and have alot of meat. Curlews are the big shorebird whos long beak curves downward...locals alos eat Godwits.. whos long beak curves slightly up but they are smaller and not much meat but surely delicious too. You can even get em with a slingshot.

All are killer funny.............and he has a story about losing all of his shotguns on one trip............not in the mud but to a Federale.

If you're going to hunt down there you gotta get these books:

Glory Days of Baja

Best Stories of Baja

Arriba Baja

Larry is a great guy who just happens to be a doctor who owns a winery............AND he has made most of the book signings at Keri's Pyramid Resort............Next one will be May 5th this year so put it on your calendar.
