Determining the duty?

Alan - 2-16-2007 at 09:30 AM

Will soon be furnishing a place in La Paz and did some window shopping while we were there. My wife and I were thinking that for many items we would have a better selection, better quality and better price by buying in the US and taking it down ourselves. I understand that we will have to pay duty on the items but is there somewhere I can find out what the duty would be to import it and the procedure for doing so?

Danaeb-- we're likely to be neighbors soon as we have a lot on the hill at the top of Lomas. let me know your thoughts on this process as we are working on designs, layout, materials etc. for a house there. Norm

if you have an fm3 they let you bring in $500 free each trip

if you import at otay

first $1000 17%

UP TO $5000 24% with broker

above $5000 you are a comercial importer

They do? love it!
