Does anyone have a good chemical-free option to keep flies under control in my casa? Even though we keep the garbage covered and emptied frequently
these damn moscas continue to pour in anytime the screen door opens. Don't get me wrong, the fly swatter is both fun and effective. But is there any
other means by which to kill moscas? I've not had any luck finding fly paper and I've looked in stores from Los Barriles to Cabo San Lucas. Truth be
known, I've yet to find a fly swatter for sale! Anyone out there have a good solution to the mosca problem?Dave - 2-23-2007 at 10:01 AM

I just hung some CD's. Curious to see how they work. I just checked out the links Halboo posted. Good concept. Might just be able to rig some kind of
trap of my own. I remember seeing someone use a saucer of beer to catch flies. I keep trying this method but I drink the frosty beer before the moscas

When we moved into a home that was previously occupied by a Mexican family I was confused by the clear bags of water hanging from the garage
cieling!

Here we have some fly killer bugs, you buy them at the local hardware store, you release them in your property, and man, they are like pit bulls, they
go after the fly's and rip their heads off. Pretty soon, all you need to do is pick up the dead fly's all over the place.

I actually purchased and use a contraption that looks like a tennis racket. It uses a 9-volt battery and has a grid that zaps those little suckers
with the most satisfying "POP"! I take great sadistic pleasure in zapping those little ....s. Warning, I went after one this morning, had been bugging
me all night, I was ....ed, I had blood in my eye, it was him or me, it was me. I very stealthfully moved my racket into position slightly behind and
above the fly that had landed on my knee. It is important to know that flies must fly up before they fly forward, sideways or backward. This allows
the seasoned zapper to poise the weapon directly in their flight path. A satisfying Zap, Pop, a puff of smoke and they are history! Well back to this
mornings entertainment, er, oops, encounter with the fly. The object of my hunt this morning, after landing on my eye lid, inside my nostril, waking
me from a deep sleep, my forehead, twice, my eye brow, once and finally it landed on my by then fully exposed knee. The moment had arrived and it was
curtains for this black Mariah! Carefully, very carefully I moved the tazer close to it’s filmy wings. I was so focused I could see the pulsing of
it’s veins running through it’s ailerons’. Zap, I had him, but, no, I sat up with a start as I reeled from the shock of the tazer. Bam!!! Wide awake
and hurting, really hurting. These are not toys. Even the most sincerely felt love tap could seriously affect your relationship. Save this toy for the
insectos. Trust me on this one, even if I am an old f… I am not kidding you, these things really hurt. Really hurt!
Now, back to the fly, eventually I nailed him while he was preoccupied with tailings from some cookie crumbs that somehow missed the maw the previous
night. A particularly pleasing black smudge puffed from his exploding corpse that released a somewhat sweet, though pungent odor. It may have been the
circumstances, but that was one of the most satisfying hits of my career.
I think that the flytraps, plastic bags, and Brittany cds are probably more effective, but for the pure, unadulterated pleasure, nothing beats the
tazer.
This particular model is rather expensive at $15 but I think might be easier on the wrist due to the unique design of the handle. My particular unit
is a pale blue, which of course identifies it as mine. Msfish had a pink one that somehow got broken????? We purchased them in British Columbia last
summer where the mosquito is the Provincial bird.
There is nothing as satisfying as the smell of roasted fly in the morning!

Three of us campers some years ago at Rattlesnake Beach hung ziplock filled with water from our awning arms on each end. Worked for us for years. I
guess there is something to the confusing to the fly eyes.
