bill erhardt - 2-25-2007 at 08:12 AM

At 8:00 a.m., about ten minutes ago, a tremor set the overhead fans swinging in Loreto. There was an aftershock not quite as strong about five minutes later.

rts551 - 2-25-2007 at 08:27 AM

looks like a few in the last couple of days. Hey maybe Baja will split off from Kalifornia

Don Alley - 2-25-2007 at 08:42 AM

Now they are saying it was a 5.3 earthquake.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!I felt that here in Nopolo Was on the "throne"!!!! Everything was "swinigng" (well almost everything that was hanging down) Towels, shower caddie. Wife was at the sink, and was my first "strong one" down here in over 15 years!!! Sort of funny. But now I've got to check for stress cracks around the house. Biggest was in Foster City (Bay area) when my living room couch began to sort of float out from the living room wall with me and the family "on" it. Was maybe l968 (???????) Not sure.
Welcome to Loreto first time travelers. I still think that Baja will "split" somewhere, what with all the concrete being poured down here in the past 25 years. Plus add thousands of automobiles, plus human bodies. Anyone else agree?????

Everyone knows there will be the big one specially with the San Andreas fault right next to us, and still they keep on building these 20story condos in Rosarito, one day all that will be coming down no one ever thinks about these minor things......

Any damage in Loreto?

djh - 2-25-2007 at 10:15 AM

Hope no one sustained any serious damage. Most of our local Mexican friends don't have instant internet access at home...

If your place sustained any damage, or if you observe any, please post.

Shing and I are in Idaho again... Shing is headed to Taiwan to visit family soon, and I'm doing another performance tour in S. Korea in March, so we're unable to walk the neighborhood and check.

BTW 4 inches of fresh snow this AM.... Baja Humbug ! ! !

No damage at our place and I doubt if there was any in town.

The second quake (aftershock?) was a 5.0, and located 48 miles from Loreto, vs 60 miles for the first shaker.
