We are checking into the advisability of replacing rotten palapa posts with concrete posts. The concern is that they are not flexible enough to
handle high winds, hurricanes, etc. Any experience or advice? Thanks.

No problem, the top is all of the wind resistance and it blows off and leaves the post to do nothing more than groan a bit.

Tell that to Gary who had very large concrete posts crack bad.

The post is only as strong as the footing. Deeper and wider is stronger.
So, dig a hole about 3000 feet into the ground and quit worrying.
