Mobil home

Hi folks…. I recently purchased some property here in La Paz and I’m looking for a Mobil home to place on it while I’m building the house. Problem is I can’t find anything in Baja Sur…. Plenty up north but nothing here.

Just wondering if any of you Nomads have any ideas on where to look.

Thanks,
Tio Rocky

Hey Tio Rocky why not just buy a used trailer and pull it down there or hire someone to pull it down there. A nice 32 footer would probably do well for you if just two of you. You could even get by with four in it if you had a queen size sofa and get at least two slide outs. You can also build a porch around the front cheaply and give you more room. Now if you still want that mobil home go see the guys remodling them in Tecate, they have several places in town working on them. They take them down to Ensenada, so I would guess as like anything in Mexico money talks and of course you know what walks, right?? I seen some of their work as I have a friend that lives in Tecate (got to retire after 30 years of us working together but I am younger, so I continue to work for a short while longer) and we went through them. You can tell them how you want them redone and reframed inside and then drywalled if you want. The electrical is also redone on all of them or the most part when doing it this way also. If you want to buy a good used trailer or 5th wheel now is the time to do so. Go the Yuma, Arizona on Interstate 8 and turn off on the Foothills turn off and stay to the right. After the 1st light and all the way down for about 4 blocks there are several for sale by owners on weekly paid lots which all them to sale. They have some very good deals and it beats the Trailer Companies trying to sale you the same used trailer for about $10,000 up to $20,000 dollars more. Good luck!!!!!!!!!! Bajafun777

Thanks Bajafun777….

I actually live full time here in La Paz…. I already contacted the people in Ensenada where I lived for years and it’s a real problem bringing one south…. The permits are incredible not to mention the problems with the narrow road… you have to hire trucks with lights for in front and to follow…

As far as a smaller trailer it just doesn’t work… me, the wife, the son and two adopted girls and two dogs it’s kind of tough… not to mention I need an office in the trailer as I work out of the house…. I pretty much need a good size double-wide to make it work…

Just hoping someone knows of some options out there…
