We just got back last night from Loreto and whale watching in San Ignacio, check out the videos I just posted of our whale watch! (They are all very short.)We had several whale calves come over to hang out with us, we were all thrilled to death especially the kids.

Fun videos Marla - we just got back from Baja - went to Scammons twice - got rained out and blown out - but finally went out in small craft warning seas - saw whales but not friendly - How did you get to the lagoon? How was the road (assuming you drove)? hope to see more pics - Marv

Hey Marv,
I lucked out I guess. I camped in a Palapa at Scammons (Thanks Shari for posting the photos and info on the Palapas) on Monday 3/5 and watched AND PET the whales on 3/6 on a sunny morning with calm water.
Really was fantastic.
I did not get over Shari's way this trip, but did camp also at Bahia Conception (cool at night), ran the car heater as I headed south in the morning and then ran the A/C later in the day. Spent 5 nights at the East Cape arriving 3/7 to perfect weather and sea conditions during my entire stay. They said it had blown very hard for several days prior to my arrival.

we be there Friday

anyone else headed down?

Hey Marla,
The kids sure are getting big. Looks like you all had a great time on the trip, good footage.
I bought new sleds for when they come to play in the snow.
A long way from whale watching, but certainly also fun!

Hey Marv. I didn't want to beat up our rental van so I paid Kuyima to drive us out to the lagoon in a van. The road actually is not that bad right now, I could have driven it but I didn't want to get tired out before we went whale watching. Sorry you got blown out. I guess we were really lucky with the weather, it cleared up and turned sunny the day we arrived. Georock! How is life as a grandmother? We want to use those sleds. We are off to Italy on the 5th as we did a home exchange with some Italians and have a free beach house on the Italian Riveria to stay in!

Anyone heading to Scammons make sure to call Sirena there...she works at the Los Caracoles...5-9 pm, the new big hotel at the entrance to town. She will set you up with what you need and show you around.
