Just checked the complete timetable on their web site - looks like they don't fly to Baja at all any more, not even LA - Cabo. I took advantage of
their San Diego - Puerto Vallarta direct route several times when they had it - guess the economics weren't working . . .
So from SoCal to La Paz it's Alaska or ????

Yes, sometimes the airlines will do this. It is called "code share." One airline will take your reservation through their system but then book your
flight on a different, cooperating airline. Often times I will book a flight from LA to Cabo on Mexicana because it is often the cheapest fare, but
then my reservation will be on American Airlines and I fly on their planes.
So my point is that you might be able to book LA/La Paz on Aeromexico but you will be really flying on Alaska. Quien sabe?

If you are looking for small airlines that fly locally in Mexico may I suggest the following: http://www.larpman.com/transportpages/airpages/airdomestic.h...
also http://aereocalafia.com.mx
These are all small airlines unheard of in the U.S. and not on any Flight Search engine of which I am aware. Comes in handy if you're out in the
boonies and have to go home to get parts.
Volaris airline flys once a day Tijuana to Cabo at excellent prices. They have a shuttle to pick you up in San Diego. http://www.volaris.com.mx

Aerocalifornia is flying direct from TJ to La Paz, as is Avolar (the Southwest Airlines of Mexico) avolar.com.mx. I think for any travelers in the
San Diego area going to La Paz, TJ is the only direct choice unless you want to drive to LA and fly Delta or Alaska.Worldtraveller - 3-12-2007 at 11:00 PM
I hadn't heard about Volaris until recently -- they are a new airline run by some experienced airline managers from Latin America and financed by
some of Mexico's leading business people. I haven't flown on them, but have friends who say they are great.
