south of LA bay

Hi everybody,
I am planning my brother's 30th bday in september, and I want it to be memorable, he's having a few good friends joining him from Europe coming for the occasion.
I was thinking on a remote beach around LA bay, does anyone have any suggestion?
How's bahia las animas or san rafael(+road conditions)?
Thank you
Gerald:spingrin:

If you really want to go that far out, those are both nice beaches. The pavement ends in Bahia de Los Angeles. The road between there and San Rafael is graded washboard and does not require 4WD. The road to Las Animas branches off the San Rafael route. It's been years, but when I was last on it there were sandy parts. I'd say you need 4WD for that. Or you can charter a boat in Bahia de Los Angeles to take you there and pick you up later.

You might think about the north end of Bahia de Los Angeles, La Gringa, or further north there are several coves that are very private. That area is a twenty minute drive from Bahia and the facilities there.

There are zero facilities at either San Rafael or Las Animas.

San Rafael has Pancho!

Pancho has ice cold Pacificos!

Pancho can even make you a fish or chicken burrito!

Pancho is a great guy, see Pancho!
